2020 Vauxhall Grandland X Hybrid: FWD plug-in option added to SUV

The 2020 Opel/Vauxhall Grandland X Hybrid is the second plug-in hybrid powertrain available for the compact SUV with a less power but slightly better range.


The new 2020 Opel/Vauxhall Grandland X Hybrid has a 134kW (180hp) 1.6L turbo I4 paired with 82kW (110hp) and 360Nm (266 lb-ft) electric motor built into the 8-speed automatic transmission driving the front wheels.

Total output is 168kW (225hp), which is down from 56kW (75hp) from the 224kW (300hp) Hybrid4 model. The Hybrid4 has the same 1.6L motor, but two electric motors.

WLTP range from the 13.2kWh lithium ion battery is up 6km (4mi) to 55km (34mi) from 48km (30mi) of the Hybrid4.

Overall top speed is 225km/h (140mph), and 0-60mph takes 8.6s.
