2020 Kia Stinger GTS: New dynamic AWD system for better drifting

The 2020 Kia Stinger GTS is a limited edition model of just 800 cars, and is available with a 3.3L twin-turbo V6 and a new dynamic AWD system.

The new optional dynamic AWD system gains a mechanical limited slip rear differential, and has three drive modes:

  • Comfort: 60% of power to the rear wheels
  • Sport: 80% of power to the rear wheels
  • Drift: up to 100% of power to the rear wheels, and holds gears without upshifting

There’s also a new control logic for the system with slip control, counter steer detection, revised stability control, and a new transmission shifting pattern.

A 3.3L twin-turbo V6 with 272kW (365hp) and 510Nm (376 lb-ft), and an 8-speed auto is standard.

The GTS also features new carbonfiber parts for the grille, mirrors and sills, new GTS badges, Alcantara trim for the steering wheel and interior, Chamude headliner, sunroof, 720W Harmon/Kardon audio system, wireless smartphone charging, and the option of Federation orange paint.

Production starts in the spring of 2019, with the RWD starting at US$44,000 MSRP and around US$46,500 for D-AWD model.
