2020 Honda Fit (Jazz) vs 2013-2019: Differences & changes compared

The Honda Fit/Jazz has been completely redesigned for 2020. We put the third and fourth generations side by side to see just how much everything’s changed.

In Europe, the new Jazz is only available with a hybrid powertrain. Availability in the US has yet to be confirmed.

While the overall silhouette of the Fit/Jazz is pretty much the same as before, all the details are much more refined resulting in a sportier and more upmarket look.

That said, the design of front is the most similar to the outgoing model. Unlike other recent Honda models, the company has gone for simplicity and elegance, rather than in-your-face design.

The window and windscreen line is higher, which creates a more compact and sportier look, but will probably reduce outward visibility. On the upside, the A-pillar is said to be a lot thinner than before.

The raked back leading edge of the front doors and downward plunge of the front quarter window really makes for a much more athletic profile. There's also a floating roof design, and contrasting colour options available in some markets.

Both the head- and tail-light graphics are classier due to their use of LEDs. For the first time, the tail-lights stretch into the tailgate.

As with the exterior, the dashboard is now simple, modern and elegant. There's even a contrasting colour pad available on high-end models, and a free-standing touchscreen infotainment system..

A two-spoke steering wheel is standard across the range in Europe and Japan. Analog instruments have been replaced with a completely digital display.

Interestingly, the new model there's a slight step on the boot floor on the European model, which hybrid only.

Despite the redesign, the Jazz/Fit sticks to its man maximum, machine minimum philosophy. So there's plenty of interior space even with the compact dimensions.

There's still plenty of hard plastic around, but the design and available colour combinations make the new Fit/Jazz a much more pleasant place to be.

For the first time, there's a new pseudo-SUV variant available: the Crosstar. It has taller suspension, a more traditional grille, different bumpers, and fender flares/protectors.
