Although the new Odyssey uses the platform of the latest Acura MDX and Honda Pilot, the fifth generation US minivan has evolutionary styling.

The new 2018 Odyssey still has a 3.5-liter V6 only, but it now has direct injection and cylinder deactivation. It makes 280hp (209kW), up 32hp (24kW) on the 2017 model. Lower models have a 9-speed auto, while high end versions have a 10-speed auto.
