Toyota GRMN: What does its name mean and letters stand for?

Toyota is using the GRMN badge for its hotted up sports car variants, including the 86 and Yaris, but what do the letters stand for?

These hotter, go-fast models are all developed by Gazoo Racing, a division started by Akio Toyoda before he became head of Toyota.

Said to be inspired by Gazoo Racing’s endeavours, these models aim to inject speed, handling and excitement back into the Toyota brand.

Taking every car maker’s obsession with the Nurburgring to another level, GRMN stands for Gazoo Racing Masters of Nurburgring.
