Toyota C-HR etymology: What does its name and letters mean?

The Toyota C-HR is the brand’s long awaited Nissan Juke/Honda HR-V rival, but what do the letters in its name mean?

The company that practically invented the mainstream car-based crossover is really late to the small SUV party. The new Toyota C-HR is late to mix, but does come with some eye-catching — some would say ugly — styling.

According to Toyota, the letters C-HR stand for “Compact size and High Ride height”.

That’s certainly true today, but what about in seven generations time when it’ll be about the size of today’s Chevrolet Suburban?
