Toyota C-HR II concept previews sub-RAV4 SUV

For the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, Toyota showed off the second iteration of the C-HR concept that debuted at the 2014 Paris show.

The updated C-HR II concept previews the look of Toyota’s sub-RAV4 that will be unveiled at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show in March.

Under the skin is the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) that debuted beneath the fourth generation Toyota Prius. The C-HR is said to have a hybrid drivetrain, but mainstream models will most likely have gas and turbo-diesel engines.

It’s odd that the company that created the car-based SUV with the RAV4 has been so slow to market with a sub-RAV4 model, a space already occupied by Nissan Qashqai, Chevrolet Trax, Honda HR-V and many others.
