Toyota Aygo etymology: What does its name mean?

Small, cost effective and relatively basic, the Toyota Aygo has been engineered to be affordable and fun, but what does its name mean?

The name of the smallest Toyota sold in Europe is pronounced as “I go” and that, apparently, is what its name is meant to convey as it is the cheapest way to get into a new Toyota on the Continent.

Through two generations the Aygo has been developed alongside the Peugeot 108 and Citroen C1, with the triplets sharing a platform, drivetrains, and body parts.

The Japanese-French car is built at a joint venture factory in the Czech Republic.
