PorscheMacan

Porsche Macan etymology: What does its name mean?

The Porsche Macan is a mid-size crossover that shares quite a bit with the Audi Q5. Its FWD roots don’t seem to hurt it (sales wise, at least), but what does its name mean?

Macan is Indonesian for tiger. Simple.

During its development, the press often referred to the car as Cajun, which is not only a portmanteau of Cayenne and Junior, but happens to sound just as spicy as its bigger Volkswagen Touareg-based sibling.
