Ford F-750 Tonka dump truck brings kids toy to reality

The Ford F-750 Tonka is a one-off dump truck was created by Ford, Tonka and Truck Tech Engineers for the 2015 NTEA Work Truck show.

The Ford F-750 Tonka is one-off display vehicle, which will be displayed at 2015 NTEA Work Truck show and future trucking exhibits.

For the display car, Ford has donated a standard 2016 model year F-750 truck body chassis, which is melded to a dump truck rear supplied by Truck Tech Engineers. The F-750’s body is then finished off with Tonka’s signature yellow paint, Tonka-based livery and then fitted with a custom made black-out grille.

The F-750 Tonka is motivated by a 6.7-litre V8 Power Stroke turbo-diesel engine and a heavy-duty six-speed automatic transmission. Ford doesn’t mention which one of the three 6.7-litre diesel V8 variants the F-750 Tonka uses:

  • 270hp / 675 lb-ft [201kW / 915Nm]
  • 300hp / 700 lb-ft [223kW / 949Nm]
  • 330hp / 725 lb-ft [246kW / 983Nm]
