Ford will begin making the B2E EcoSport at its plant in Craiova in Romania from the fall of 2017, which will supply all European markets including Russia.
Ford will invest €200 million at the Craiova factory to enable it to build the sub-Kuga/Escape SUV there. The Craiova factory currently makes the B-Max people mover and the 1-liter 3-cylinder EcoBoost engine.
Despite poor reviews, EcoSport sales are up nearly 30 percent in Europe during 2016.
Ford of India will continue to the make the EcoSport for both domestic and export sales at its factory in Chennai.
