2019 Audi Q8: Flagship coupe SUV previewed by bold new Q8 Concept

The 2017 Audi Q8 Concept previews a range topping SUV coupe, and it breaks away from the cookie cutter look of the current Audi range.


The new Q8 is the first production car to be styled by design chief Marc Lichte, and his new design language will mean more distinctive SUVs, sedans, hatches, coupes and convertibles.

The Q8 Concept has a plug-in hybrid powertrain with a total system output of 330kW (443hp) and 700Nm (516 lb-ft). There’s a 3-liter turbo V6 with 245kW (333hp) and 500Nm (369 lb-ft) an electric motor with 100kW (134hp) and 330Nm (243 lb-ft), and an 8-speed automatic.

The Q8 Concept has a 0 to 100 km/h time of 5.4 seconds, a top speed of 250km/h (155mph), and fuel consumption of 2.3L/100km (102.3mpg).

A 17.9kWh lithium-ion battery has an EV range of 60km (37mi), and a charging time of 2.5 hours on a 7.2kW feed.

The Q8 Concept has 305/35 tires and 20-inch wheels.

The production Q8 will have a V6 and V8 turbocharged diesel and gas engines. The new Q8 will go on sale in 2018.
