2018 Volkswagen Tiguan: LWB standard in USA, China; Allspace in EU

The new LWB Volkswagen Tiguan Mark II will be the only version offered in the USA and China, and will be offered as the optional Allspace variant in Europe.

The LWB Tiguan has has 218mm (8.6-in) longer body, and a 112mm (4.4-in) longer wheelbase, larger rear doors, and the option of seven seats across three rows and a sliding second row.

In the US, a backup camera is standard, while available equipment includes adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, digital instrument display, panoramic sunroof, power tailgate, lane departure warning, and blind spot monitoring.

For the US, just one engine will be available in the Tiguan, a 2-liter 4-cylinder turbo gas (TSI) engine with 184hp (137kW) and 221 lb-ft (300Nm) with an 8-speed automatic. FWD is standard, and AWD (4Motion) is optional.

The LWB Tiguan will be built in both Mexico and China, with Mexico built cars sold in the USA, Canada, Europe and elsewhere.
