The next generation Audi A5 Sportback will be sold in the USA, and will take on the BMW 4-Series Gran Coupe.
The Audi A5 coupe, convertible and hatchback are due for a complete generation change, and will use the same MLB platform and components as the related B9 A4 sedan and wagon.
For the new generation, the A5 Sportback will join the lineup. Currently it’s the only member of the extended A4/A5 family not sold in the States.
Scott Keogh, president of Audi America, told Automotive News, “I feel confident that there will be another variant of the A5 that will be a real home run. There’s one we don’t have.”
