2018 Acura TLX facelift: New aggressive grille and a little bit of excitement

The 2018 Acura TLX facelift looks less bland with a new grille, hood, bumpers and fenders. There’s a new A-Spec model that is bordering on sporty.

The facelifted 2018 Acura TLX has a new grille shared with the Precision Concept and the updated MDX SUV to make the bland sedan a little more “emotional”.

The base 2.4-liter 4-cylinder TLX has a new diamond pentagon grille, new hood, front bumpers, new fenders, bug or Jewel Eye headlamps, and 17-inch wheels.

The V6 TLX also gains new rear bumper with a diffuser, dual exhaust tips, and 18-inch wheels. The Technology Pack adds chrome side sills, new seats with contrasting stitching and piping, and thigh extensions for the driver’s seat. The Advance Package has LED fog lamps, surround view camera system, wireless phone charging, LED ambient lighting, heated rear seats and steering wheel, trunk spoiler, and electric folding side mirrors.

There’s also a new A-Spec V6 model that has an exclusive front bumper, side sills, black trunk spoiler, dark 19-inch wheels with 245 series tires, sports suspension, sharper steering, heavily bolstered leather seats, red instrument lighting, and aluminum look trim.

AWD A-Spec models have gloss black trim, and stiffer springs and rear stabilizer bar.

SH-AWD (Super Handling All Wheel Drive) is available on all V6 models. The 2018 Acura TLX goes on sale June 2017, with pricing announced closer to that date.
