2017 Skoda Karoq: Yeti replaced by SUV based on Volkswagen Tiguan

The new Skoda Karoq has a weird name, is based on the Volkswagen Tiguan, and replaces the uniquely styled Yeti in the Czech brand’s range.


The new Karoq is bigger than the Yeti, except in height. And the rear seat is available with the VarioFlex system that allows it slide backwards and forwards on rails.

Available tech on the Karoq includes full LED headlamps, hands free kick to open tailgate, a programmable digital instrument display, and infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support.

Safety items available include parking assistance, lane keeping assist, traffic jam assistant, blind spot monitoring, and emergency braking with pedestrian protection.

There are turbocharged five engines (2 gas, 3 diesel) will be available with Karoq at the start with power going from 85kW (114hp) to 140kW (188hp).

The Skoda Karoq goes on sale in the second half of 2017.
