2017 Mitsubishi Delica D:5 previewed by XM Concept in Indonesia

The replacement for the Mitsubishi Delica D:5, which debuted back in 2007, has been previewed by the XM Concept at the Gaikindo Indonesia Auto Show.

Described by Mitsubishi as a “crossover MPV”, the XM (not to be confused with the long deceased Citroen of the same name) have seven seats across three rows.

The XM has a “wide body and an optimized layout to provide generous interior space that allows seven occupants to relax in comfort” and there is “variety of seat arrangements”.

No images of the interior have been issued yet, but Mitsubishi says that “horizontal dashboard accentuates the breadth of an MPV” and that “together with the wide elevated center console, black/white high-contrast interior coloring, and silver accents the interior reflects a refined look”.

No word too on the drivetrain, but it’s impossible to miss the car’s “dynamic shield” front end design that saw its first production implementation with the facelifted Outlander.
