2017 Chevrolet Camaro prices slashed, manual only base model added

After finally outselling the Ford Mustang last month, Chevrolet is hoping to keep the Camaro firing on all cylinders with a big price cut.

Coupe

The starting price of the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro is now US$26,900 for the new base 1LS model, which comes fitted exclusively with a 6-speed manual. The 1LT now begins at US$27,595 with a standard 8-speed auto, and is US$1,200 cheaper than the old 1LT auto.

A 2-liter turbo 4-cylinder is standard in the 1LS, 1LT and 2LT, with a 3.6-liter V6 optional. A 6.2-liter V8 is standard on the SS models.

Prices for the 2LT (US$31,400), 1SS (US$37,900), and 2S (US$42,900) are unchanged.

Convertible

While only the bottom end of the coupe range has had its prices cut, the convertible Camaro range is now significantly cheaper as we head into winter.

Pricing now goes US$31,400 for the 1LS manual (US$2,900 cheaper than the 1LT manual), US$33,595 for the 1LT automatic (down US$2,200), US$36,600 for the 2LT (down US$1,800), US$43,900 for the 1SS (down US$1,000), and US$48,900 for the 2SS (down US$1,000).

The revised 2017 range is now available throughout the US.
