Porsche will debut a facelift for the 981 and 981C generation Boxster and Cayman models, respectively, in 2016, along with a new name and engine.
Although the facelift isn’t likely to bring a huge change to coupe and convertible’s design, it will feature big changes under the skin.
In place of the current normally aspirated boxer 6-cylinder engine will be a new 4-cylinder boxer turbo, which will be lighter, more fuel efficient and faster.
The Boxster and Cayman will also be rebranded as the 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman at the changeover.
